“The exhibition of Kate Kelly and friends is exciting much indignation along respectable people on the one hand, and drawing large crowds of people of the lower order on the other. Arrangements are being made for showing the horses on which Ned Kelly and Kate Kelly distinguished themselves. A good deal of money has already been taken.”

WILL Sir Henry Parkes prevent the proposed Kelly family exhibition? It’s a better cause for his attention than the Proctor lectures. — Evening News.

SYMPATHY WITH THE KELLYS – The exhibition of Kate Kelly and friends is exciting much indignation along respectable people on the one hand, and drawing large crowds of people of the lower order on the other. Arrangements are being made for showing the horses on which Ned Kelly and Kate Kelly distinguished themselves. A good deal of money has already been taken. Kate Kelly and other members of the family, and sympathisers, appeared last Saturday evening at the Apollo Hall, charging a shilling for admission to all who desired to see and speak to them. The result was that thousands assembled, and a most unseemly scene occurred. The Kellys state that their object is simply to raise money in order to leave the country. — Daily Telegraph.

KATE KELLY IN SYDNEY – The Katoomba, which arrived last night from Melbourne, brought over Kate Kelly and her brother Jim, accompanied by two agents. They bring with them the grey mare that had belonged to their brother, Ned; also the saddle of the notorious bushranger, besides Kate’s favourite pony. These “relics” they purpose exhibiting in public in this city to-night if they can obtain permission. They are located at Freshwater’s Packhorse Inn, Campbell-street. They were visited this morning by a magistrate, a solicitor, and two detectives, but for what purpose is not known. James Kelly strongly complains of the conduct of one of the detectives towards his sister. — Evening News.
